The beautiful Shandon Eco Estate is situated in the Nelspruit area and is approximately 780Ha in size. The Lowveld chapter is fortunate enough to have a couple of members who live in the estate and we were invited to come and drive their 4x4 nature trail.
The participating Land Rovers all met at a local shopping centre from where we departed to the estate. After we all passed through the main gates and security checkpoint, it was time for the fun to begin.
The 4x4 route stretched about 12km through some of the most amazing views in the Lowveld. There were several lookout points that were visited as well as some waterfalls and rock pools along the way. The event was dog friendly and our members made good use of the opportunity to bring along their four legged friends. The route twisted and turned with quite a few up and down hills before we arrived at the dedicated picnic spot. This was a picnic spot with a view!
Everybody unpacked and the braai fires were lit. A few ideas and Land Rover stories were swopped out before lunch and some refreshments were enjoyed.
Overall it was a great day that was enjoyed by all who attended. The Lowveld chapter would like to thank Gustav, David and Braam that made the arrangements and the event possible.
This was a great outing that I am sure we will do again in future.
