Sandwani Weekend Away

And so it was time again for the annual Tortoise run held at Sandwani. What an event it was this year with a combination of Series, Defenders, Rangies and Discos competing for the coveted Tortoise trophy. At the end of the day it was New vs Old, with "Groenie", Hennie's Series II taking on Coenie's Discovery 4 in the final with Groenie taking the win and giving "slow" a whole new meaning. For those who don't know what the Tortoise Run is all about, you need to be there next year!

As usual the weekend away turned out great. The event was well attended with a variety of Land Rovers on display. Yes, a Discovery 4 is nice, but there is nothing nicer than a 45 year old Series II. The Sandwani team have made some great changes to the venue with the addition of another toilet facility in the Bush Camp as well as shade nets, definitely our camp of choice for next year. Tranquil game drives, stunning scenery and a great Landy family,

The tortoise run what else do you need... Well there is always the Sunset rock. Whether you join for the weekend, or come through for the day, you have to experience the Sandwani weekend and all the fun that goes with it. Sandwani offers game drives, a 4x4 track and much more. Hope to see you all there next year.
