March Recovery Training

30 March 2017 - Brendon Lowe
On Saturday morning, 4 March, we held our first recovery training session, Module 3, for the year at Malonjeni Holiday farm near Heidelberg. In total there were 12 trainees in attendance who were eager to learn the do's and don's of using their recovery equipment correctly.

Safety was once again the order of the day as trainees were taken through the various types of recovery equipment during the morning followed by a practical recovery session in the afternoon where the trainees could put their newly found skills to the test and ‘recover’ a stranded vehicle. We also practically demonstrated the potentially disastrous effects of a kinetic strap that 'failed' during a snatching exercise to highlight to the trainees how important the safety aspects of the recovery process are. We completed the session with a short assessment of the basic principles and all trainees passed with flying colours!

The trainees were eager to buy new recovery gear from the trailer and we made record sales on the day – thanks to all those that supported - our stock is very well priced compared to the retailers out there!

The day ended at about 15h30 and was enjoyed by all. Well done to the successful trainees who received their attendance certificates and my thanks to Jakob Jordaan for his valued support on the day.
