Diepkloof.....need we say more? We will depart at 07:30 in convoy to arrive at the farm at 08:00. Pack a picnic basket with boerewors and buns and don’t forget the skottelbraai, for a lunch break under the big tree. It is a scenic drive but with a twist, you must pack your recovery gear, should it have rained in the days leading up to the event. We should be back in the camp by 16:00 and you may return to the camp at your own pace. Alternatively, you may consider paying the nearby Loskop Nature Reserve a visit or simply staying in camp and enjoying the facilities available. Bring a bag of wood and join us around the Kalahari TV on Saturday night. Sunday will be spent at your own leisure. Please be aware that we camp next to the Elephants River and you will have to take protective measures against mosquitoes. Camping fees will be collected at the venue by the owner on arrival and those for the mountain drive will be collected on departure on Saturday morning, except if it is your intention to make a donation, don’t pay your camping fees to the LROC! A final e-mail will be sent to those who have booked, with the gate code, etc. PS: The campsite is on the Western bank of the river and there is another on the Eastern so don’t be misled by your GPS and thus cross the river to the other side. |
