Every vehicle needs a proper inspection from time to time, but before a big overland trip a pre-inspection may often be the difference between a successful trip and a logistical nightmare. That nagging feeling of possible breakdowns many of us get before a big overland expedition is often down to what we know and trust about our vehicle.
A vehicle is hands-down the most critical part of equipment where overland travel is involved. Join us for a morning info session to show you just how to ensure your vehicle is in tip top shape before embarking on your adventure. We will be joined by Rob Keen, a member of LROC who has travelled from London to Cape town with his trusty 20 year old Discovery. Rob now runs his own workshop in South Africa and has an intricate knowledge of how to give a vehicle a clean bill of health before a long distance trip.
Registration and signing of indemnity’s will start promptly at 8:30 and the technical day will start at 9:00. We will be discussing what to look out for when inspecting a vehicle and how to rectify possible problems. This is not only for the DIY fundi’s but also for those who would like to ask their mechanic to check on a few things before a trip. Demonstrations will be held to show how to inspect some important aspects of a landy while others will be covered theoretically in the interest of time.
Please remember to bring a light lunch, chair, hat and sun screen.
