Join us in late August into early September 2019 for an away trip focused on covering one of the most beautiful parts of our country. This is an ideal time to travel this area, for the flowers and temperatures. Some of the views on this trip will remain with you for the rest of your life.

Please note that a 4x4 is essential to access the areas to be travelled. While trailers can travers this terrain, you are advised that it will slow the convoy’s pace of travel. Depending on the level of interest of those with trailers we can review pace of travel.

Wed, 28th August
Arrive in Augrabies Falls NP where the group will meet and resume the trip the next morning. Depending on your arrival you can explore this amazing park, climb Moon rock and see the falls.

Thurs, 29 - Sat, 31 August
We’ll set off on the first leg of the trip which will cover Pella, then along the Orange River to 3 camps along this section of the Namakwa Trial ending at Vioolsdrift.

Sun, 1st - Fri, 6th September
We tackle the second leg of the trip into the Richtersveld will include camping at De Hoop, Richtersberg and Kokerboomkloof, spending some time at each to allow us to explore the area or chill if you wish. The plan is to do most of the passes and seek out some of the endemic birds, and to enjoy the fauna and flora unique to this part of the country.

Sat, 7th – Mon, 9th September
This will be the return journey, still covering sections of the Richtersveld Community Conservancy and via Vioolsdrift to our last return night either at Augrabies NP or Red Sands and then home on your own steam or as a group.

We can finalise details after our first meeting. This trip will be limited to 5 vehicles. Booking is essential, so please book early to avoid disappointment. See Costs and Deposit.
