Anglo Boer War (Brit + Boer). What is the reason behind this second Boer war? What happened at the battle of BergenDal? Come and discover the meaning of all of this during the hunt for all the hidden treasures and facts in and around Belfast and Dullstroom.

We are going to explore the Eastern Transvaal battlefields, including visits to majestic churches and concentration camp sites, experience a lovely scenic drive, walk in the footsteps of the war heroes, appreciate the company of fellow Land Rover friends and enjoy an interactive history lesson with our own, Colin Ross (ex-British military). This promises to a very exciting and interesting trip and you can even find a couple of geocaches while you are there.

As this is a long weekend, we have 2 days to discover. Day one will start at BergenDal Memorial site and take you on a journey to Machadodorp from where we take the back roads to Belfast and find the memorials in and around Belfast. The second day will be as interesting as the first, we will visit a heliograph station and then take back roads admiring the landscape and honour the fallen heroes ending in Dullstroom.

We will camp at Elandskloof Trout Farm in Dullstroom. This venue offers various accommodation options for camping, chalets, rondawels or cottages. Please note, because there are so many options available, you will need to book your accommodation directly with the venue, Elandskloof Trout Farm  (071 698 7845).

We will meet at BergenDal memorial site (17km from Belfast) at 10:00 on the Friday, 9 August (Public Holiday).

For the trip it is recommended that you have your own VHF radio. Our tour guide will give interesting facts and details during the drive. To secure your booking, please book with Madeleine or on the website and pay your booking fee of R100 to LROC. Accommodation be booked and paid directly to Elandskloof Trout Farm  (071 698 7845).
