The Land Rover Owners Club welcomes all Land Rover enthusiasts to join the club. Whether you want some useful information and help to put your beloved Series vehicle back on the road, you want to venture out into Africa, learn how best to drive your landy, or you simply want to meet other passionate Landy owners, then joining the LROC is the way to go.
But don't be disheartened: if you do not currently own a Land Rover or you are in the process of restoring a Land Rover, you are still most welcome to join the club. However, please note that NO other vehicle other than a Land Rover will be allowed on any of the driving events.
Membership to the club includes the main member, spouse and children. Membership fees are based on a calendar year and are renewable on the 1st of January each year. Should you join the club any time after June, the joining fee is reduced by half. Please note that no further members will be accepted into the club from the end of October each year as we usually wind down our activities in early November. As a member of the club you will be sent an invoice during December for the following year's fees. On renewing your membership with the club, all pensioners qualify for a 25% discount on their fee for that year.
The LROC is a non profit organisation and as such your membership fees are used for the general running of the club: printing, postage, telephone, equipment, maintenance of regalia and trial trailers, administration costs, etc. Yearly financial records are made available at our annual AGM held every February.
The procedure for joining the LROC varies depending on whether you are based in and around Gauteng, elsewhere within South Africa or in another country:
Gauteng:
If you reside within Gauteng or a 100km radius from Midrand, you need to join the club by attending one of our many events. You will find the upcoming events in our monthly LROC News Newsletter (there is a direct link on the right side of this page). You need to bring along your application form (link also alongside) and your membership fees (cheque or cash only) and introduce yourself to one of the Committee Members present at the event. The Committee Member will take your application form and assist you in whatever way necessary for you to enjoy the rest of the event with us.
Outside Gauteng & other countries:
We welcome people who reside outside of the Gauteng area and for that matter anywhere in the world who are interested in joining our Club. Our members based outside Gauteng join the Club on many of its away weekends and/or long trips. Many of our overseas members join for the Landy information and the hope that they will be able to join us on an outing when they next visit the country.
All you have to do to join the club is fill in the application form (there is a direct link on the right side of this page) and post it to us together with your cheque for your membership fees (postal address is on the application form). Should you wish to pay your fees electronically or by direct deposit into our bank account, please contact the Club Administrator for the banking details by either sending an email to admin@lroc.org.za or phone 011-3121423.
All application forms will be handed in for approval by the Committee at the next Committee meeting. Committee meetings are held monthly, usually the second last week of the month. Once accepted into the club, you will be issued with a club membership card and yearly sticker (which we request you stick to your vehicle) as well as the club's Code of Conduct, Conservation Code, and Trial and Visitor Regulations.
