Please note that the 52nd AGM will take place on the 18 February 2012. We are again using Rietvlei Nature Reserve just South of Pretoria. As this venue continues to be a hit, we have booked the lapa again. The facilities are great and there is enough parking available, and plenty of braai places. As is the established custom, the Club will be providing braai packs for all members attending. Regalia will also be on sale. Be sure to tell the person on duty at the gate that you will be attending the LROC AGM, and sign the attendance register at the gate, otherwise you will be charged R20 per person entry fee.
In line with the poll taken earlier this year regarding the President’s post in the constitution, the member votes indicated that NO Presidents post was required. The constitution will be changed accordingly and the proposed amendment to the constitution is available for viewing on the website www.lroc.org.za under the "NEWS & UPDATES" section on the homepage or by contacting the club administrator 0861 LROCSA / 0861 576272 or admin@lroc.org.za.
Please view the proposed amendment which will be put forward at the AGM on 18 February 2012. Any comments on the proposed amendment can be directed to either the club administrator, admin@lroc.org.za or to the Chairman, chairman@lroc.org.za .

This years autumn trial will take place at Rhino Park (Mcarthy 4x4 Clubs Premises - http://www.rhinopark.net/), near Cullinan. This venue has excellent facilities with enough activities to keep the whole family busy. Over and above the excellent 4x4 training facility and the 4x4 Drive route, there is a bass dam where one can go fishing (Permits may be required, please check finer details in the next newsletter).
Cost for the event are as follows:
Camping Fee: R50.00 pp/pn

Mountain Drive: Free (included in Saturdays Vehicle fee)

Make the best of the Human Rights Day long weekend in March 2012 and join the LROC going to Khutse Game Reserve in Botswana from the Wednesday to the Sunday. We have campsites reserved around Khutse Pan that provides some of the best game viewing in the reserve!!!
The campsites are bush style, offer a toilet only and require that you are pretty self-sufficient for the four nights. Typically with Botswana camping, there are no fences around the campsites and you share the evenings with wild animals around the campfire – or inbed if you wish!!
We have a reservation for 10 vehicles only and booking deposits will be treated on a first-come-first-serve basis. A non-refundable booking fee of R1 600.00 secures your booking. Kindly use the following reference when you make a payment: Khutse, surname, membership number (e.g. Khutse Jordaan 2345).
The balance of the trip costs (camping fees, entrance fees and vehicle fees) will have to be paid in full before Friday 17 February 2012 to secure your place.
Fees that are not paid up in full by Friday 17 February 2012 will unfortunately lead to a forfeit of the booking fee and the club will then accommodate people that are on the waiting list.

| Planning is to go to Mlilwane Nature Reserve via Oshoek for the first night. Oshoek is about 350km from Gauteng. Mlilwane is about another 50km from Oshoek. We will leave Mlilwane via Malkerns and the candle factory to Hlane Game reserve. About 112km. We will spend the next night there. The big five is there except for Buffalo. Lots of game around camp and the roar of lion at night is guaranteed. No power but free firewood and clean ablutions with hot water and restaurant and leisure game viewing. We might spend two nights there which will mean that it will be a long way home the last day especially on the N4. The other alternative is to spend the last night at Malalotja. It is typical highveld with the highveld game like zebra,blesbok etc. We will leave Hlane via Mhlume Piggs Peak Maguga dam, Glass factory, Oshoek home. |

| Experience the Lowveld with us and visit one of the jewels in the area, a place where few have had the opportunity to visit. April is a perfect time of the year to visit. We will utilise the Forever Resorts Swadini as a base camp for this weekend.
Accomodation
Swadini offers accommodation for caravan and camping with electricity, as well as 2 and 3 bedroom fully equipped chalets with braai , carport and air-condtioning. A perfect place for a long weekend breakaway that cater for the members that is not fully geared up for camping yet.
Activities on Swadidni includes heated swimming pool, trampolines, hiking trails, Putt-Putt, tennis and Volley ball. The Blyde Adventure Centre situated on the resort offer River Rafting, Paint War Games, Kloofing, Microliights, Tubing, Absailing and Quad Bikes.
