Two day First Aid Course
Date:09/08/2008 to 10/08/2008
Organizer:Dave Morgan
Bookings:Isla Blasa,0861-LROCSA
We have booked Outdoor Medical Consulting to conduct a two day Level 1 First Aid Course for us. Their course is orientated towards off road travellers and they have empathy with Land Rover owners. One of their paramedics, Alan de Souza is a member of LROC and was on duty at our 60th Celebration at Sandstone Estates. Please note that to be a certified Level 1 Course it has to be over at least 16 hours and many members have stipulated that they want a Level 1 Course. Seeing that August 9 is Woman’s Day we will do something special on that day for all ladies attending the course. The course fee is R680, which must be paid to LROC in advance. Delegates must bring their own lunch. We need at least 8 delegates but based on the Action Trial and our insertion in the last LROC News we have more than enough interest. Send an e-mail to Isla and she will forward all the necessary details to you.

AAWDC Challenge
Date:16/08/2008 to 16/08/2008
Organizer:Andre Oberholster
Bookings:Isla Blasa,0861-LROCSA
It is that time of the year again when we as the LROC are tasked to compete against the rest of the 4x4 clubs in the Gauteng area. As you know, our team won last year, making it 2 wins out of 4 so far. This is really confusing the other groups, as the Best 4x4xFar has a decided disadvantage these days against the hi-tech products out there,, without exception coming out standard with axle lockers and/or traction control. We don’t even talk about those huge CJ Jeeps with V8’s and massive tyres!

Techincal Day Adventure Motors KYA Sands
Date:23/08/2008 to 23/08/2008
Organizer:Attie Smit
Bookings:Attie Smit
Mark Rademarker will discuss bush mechanics with special reference to Td5 motors. All are welcome and he will answer all questions on all Land Rover models.

WEEK LONG TRIP TO MABUASEHUBE
Date:30/08/2008 to 07/09/2008
Organizer:Dave Morgan
Bookings:Isla Blasa,0861-LROCSA
Based on the feed back I am getting, Mabuasehube, on the eastern side of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a very special place. For those who have been to the Khutse Game Reserve with us and had the thrill of seeing a pride of 25 lions at a water hole, then this is the place to go for another memorable experience. This time though, we have the chance of Lion roaming through our campsite at night.

Berakah Trail

Please book in order for us to know, how many members will attend. Costs: R175 per vehicle for the weekend R35 pppn for camping and caravan;R15 per child under 12 R150 pppn sharing (single supplement R40) and R85 per child pn sharing, for the cottages, which have bedding and towels.
